What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in outpatient psychiatry. I bring a deep commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care, with a strong foundation in both advanced clinical training and real world experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions. Every new patient begins with a 90-minute comprehensive intake session. This extended time ensures that your story is fully heard, your questions are answered, and you never feel rushed. We’ll review your mental health history, current challenges, medical background, lifestyle factors, and goals for treatment. My goal is to build a collaborative foundation where you feel respected, informed, and empowered in your care. My areas of focus include: -Mood and anxiety disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and panic disorder -ADHD and executive functioning challenges -Substance use reduction including alcohol, cannabis, and benzodiazepines -Trauma-informed care for a wide range of past experiences -Women’s mental health including fertility, peripartum, and menopause transitions I work with patients ages 15 and up and proudly welcome individuals of all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ communities. Treatment may involve medication management, therapy, and lifestyle support and is always tailored to your specific needs. I offer both in-person appointments in Golden, Colorado, and virtual visits for those who prefer tele-health. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, judgment-free space to explore your mental health, I invite you to schedule a consultation. I’m here to help you build resilience, find clarity, and move forward with confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A psychiatric intake is an initial assessment where a mental health professional gathers information about a patient’s medical history, current symptoms, and any challenges they’re facing. During this session, I may ask questions about the patient’s mood, behavior, thoughts, and past treatments to better understand their mental health needs. The goal is to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses the patient’s specific concerns and sets the foundation for future care. At the end of the appointment I will discuss medication options as well as any alternative options. Intakes are around 60-90 minutes to ensure all questions are answered. Follow-up appointments are scheduled visits to monitor a patient’s progress and adjust their treatment plan as needed. During these appointments, I assesses how well the patient is responding to medications or therapy, discusses any new symptoms or concerns, and makes any necessary changes to improve their mental health care. Follow-ups help ensure ongoing support and are key to maintaining long-term mental wellness. Follow-up appointment are usually 20-30 minutes long unless more time is needed.
