Getting to know Sharon Shaver

Welcome! I'm Sharon Shaver an Independently Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I've been in the field for 8 years in different capacities but have found that my true passion lies in helping couples to reconnect and build back a strong, safe, and supportive relationship.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy in my couples sessions. All this really means is that I help you and your partner to move beyond your normal negative cycles by exploring the underlying emotions and unspoken words that would truly help your partner understand you. It takes vulnerability, but I'll be there to support you through the journey. I also specialize in Discernment Counseling. This type of couples counseling is appropriate when one partner is leaning out of the marriage while the other is still wanting to make it work. This work happens across 1-5 sessions for 90 minutes at a time.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide talk therapy sessions that last 60 minutes and can be accessed in person at my office in Kettering, OH as well as virtually from anywhere in Ohio.
