Getting to know Sharon Williams

Welcome to Your Space for Healing and Balance I am Sharon Williams, a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and the founder of Pure Light Mental Health Services. With over 16 years of clinical experience, my practice is a compassionate, evidence-based sanctuary for teens and adults navigating mental health challenges and major life transitions. True mental wellness is about restoring balance between mind, body, and spirit. Here, you will find a safe space free from judgment or rigid boxes. Together, we look at your health holistically to help you achieve a stable, vibrant, and aligned life. Seeking help can feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with burnout, stress, or deep emotional exhaustion. My approach blends high-level clinical science with profound empathy and respect for your unique experience. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all treatments. Your journey requires careful, strategic planning. We will look closely at your history and lifestyle goals to customize a plan for your specific baseline, whether that includes expert medication management, supportive therapy, or both. You are the architect of your life, and I am here as your guide and protector. I provide comprehensive telehealth services across Maryland and the District of Columbia, allowing you to access premium care from your home or office. I specialize in helping adults manage: Anxiety & Panic Disorders, Depression & Mood Issues, Life Transitions & Trauma, and Burnout & Stress Management. Why Work With Me? I combine the clinical rigor of a medical professional with a warm presence that understands human struggle. I treat you as a whole person, not a diagnosis code. My goal is to manage your clinical tracking so you can stop over-stressing and focus entirely on your growth. Let’s clear away the external chaos and unlock your inner peace. Welcome to a better tomorrow.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means having a steady partner who truly listens and respects your story. I bring nearly twenty years of medical experience to our sessions, including 16 years as a nurse before specializing in psychiatry. My philosophy is "less is more" when it comes to medication—we focus on finding the lowest effective dose to get you the best results without over-medicating. I specialize in helping adults manage stress, anxiety, and depression through convenient video visits, always treating you as a whole person rather than just a checklist diagnosis.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with a free, 15-minute phone consultation to make sure we are a good fit for each other. Once we decide to move forward, you will receive a welcome letter with intake instructions. Headway handles all of our billing and insurance verifications, and I will ensure your payment is fully processed via your insurance or direct cash pay before our first official appointment. From there, we schedule a thorough, 60-minute video evaluation to talk about your history and build your personalized treatment plan. Afterward, we will meet for regular 30-minute follow-up appointments to track your progress, manage your care, and ensure you are gaining back your peace of mind.

Before our first comprehensive session, Headway will automatically verify your specific insurance benefits and provide you with an exact, transparent breakdown of your copay or out-of-pocket costs so there are never any financial surprises. I accept a wide range of commercial insurance plans, as well as direct cash pay. Please note that all payments, deductibles, or copays must be fully processed and confirmed through the Headway portal prior to the start of each appointment.

Ms. Williams has a professional appearance and she greeted me with a smile. Most importantly she listened with genuine concern. I am so much better after the visit and will return. Thank you Ms. Williams.
I was able to get recommended to Ms. Williams from my mother and I am so greatful for this . Ms.Williams not only was able to identify my rare issue right away but she truly made me feel secure enough to be patient with the inevitable process . Everything worked out just as she expressed from the beginning and I appreciate people of her professional level.
I will be honest, with the things that I deal with when it comes to my mental health, I wasn’t sure that anyone could help me in any way that was meaningful. Ms. Williams was not only able to relate to me, but she made me feel seen and heard in a non-judgmental way. She even made me laugh a couple times. Highly recommended!
