About Dr. Shatul Parikh

Dr. Parikh returned to Emory University to complete his residency in Otolaryngology. He also did further specialized training in minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He is a nationally recognized expert in thyroid and parathyroid surgery. Dr. Parikh teaches other surgeons advanced techniques in thyroid/parathyroid surgery and has one of the largest volumes of these surgeries performed in the country. He is also experienced in all routine ENT procedures including sinus and nasal surgery. Dr. Parikh is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology and is also a member and lecturer of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is the medical director of Northwest ENT Surgery Center and Pediatric and Adult Surgery Center of Atlanta, and serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Southern ENT and Allergy (SENTA) Partners.

I was being seen for vertigo, but when the doctor came in, he looked at my right ear. Halfway my left ear leaned me back told me I had positional vertigo. Never looked up my nose, never looked in my throat. What gives he is an ENT.. all in all he was probably with me about three minutes gave me some exercises to do if that didn’t help give me a script for physical therapy. Very dissatisfied customer.

I felt like he was really quick to get me out of there. I didn’t have time to ask questions, and he was kinda of rude. he told me to stop using the word "vertigo" even though that’s literally what the urgent care people told me I had. I didn’t feel understood and in fact felt like he wasn’t believing me. It was a weird experience. The doctor in training (I assume) that was with him was kind and more empathetic than the actual Doctor and didn’t even say a word to me because he was just taking notes. But i felt more heard by him.
