Getting to know Shauna Roach

I am Shauna Roach, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in New York State. I earned my Master's in Psychiatric Nursing from Hunter College, City University of New York. My approach to care is rooted in the belief that "one size does not fit all," especially when it comes to your mental health. I believe clients deserve expert care and must be reassured that their thoughts and concerns are valid. It is absolutely important that they feel empowered to take the next step with someone who is consistent and genuinely cares about their wellbeing. I am delighted to be your accountability partner on your journey to recovery. In addition to assisting with your medication management, I also want to provide you with a recipe for lifestyle changes that have helped many.

What should a new client know about working with you?

For perspective clients, I first provide an introductory call to best determine how I may best be of service. I use a billing platform call Headway that will take care of all administrative and insurance billing items for in network clients using Cigna, Aetna, Oxford, Oscar Health, and United Healthcare. I will also send all appropriate forms and my link electronically for session connections moving forward for appointments. Of note, I offer evening appointments from 6- 10pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, on Thursdays 5-10pm and Sunday appointments 9-3pm. My schedule is flexible to accommodate individuals in need of an unconventional schedule.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am interested in hearing your concerns. I want us to work together to create a therapeutic alliance. You can rest assured that on leaving each session, you will be more empowered to make those changes.
