About Shavonne Tonnes
Shavonne is from the Bahamas, where she grew up in a medically underserved community. From a young age, she developed a strong interest in preventative care and improving health outcomes. Shavonne earned her bachelor's degree from Seattle Pacific University and went on to complete a Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at Pacific University. She found her way to the West Coast on a track scholarship and continues to volunteer as a track coach at her daughter's school. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and boating. Shavonne also helps operate a family-run conservation initiative in Eleuthera, Bahamas, called Edwin's Turtle Lake Marine Reserve, which works to conserve a small population of sea turtles within a blue hole.
