About Shawanda Marshall
Shawanda Marshall is a licensed and certified nurse practitioner with a focus on family and women's health. A native of North Carolina, she relocated to the Atlanta area in 2008 with her husband and three children. She earned her bachelor's degree from North Carolina Central University and received her master's degree in Women's Health Nursing from Georgia State University in 2013. With over 10 years of nursing experience, Shawanda has served in various roles throughout her career.
She has worked for many years as a women's health nurse at several prominent hospitals in Atlanta. This experience attending to both normal and high-risk pregnant and postpartum patients in a hospital setting gives her a unique and highly qualified perspective when caring for obstetrical patients in the office. Ms. Marshall understands the importance of caring for patients compassionately and pleasantly while simultaneously recognizing when intervention or referral is necessary.
Shawanda enjoys providing annual gynecological screenings to her patients, seeing this not only as a crucial preventive health strategy but also as an opportunity for patient education and compliance. In addition, she is passionate about family planning and contraceptive healthcare.
Dr. Brown and Shawanda work very closely together, with the goal and strategy of complementing each other's talents by coordinating their efforts for optimal patient care through an integrated team approach.

I visited Dr. Brown's office for my first prenatal appointment today and the staff was warm from the time I walked in the door. During my visit, I spoke with Dr. Brown, along with the LPN, Shawanda. They were both very thorough and just as concerned and excited about my pregnancy as I was. I am looking forward to working with the two of them to ensure that I have a healthy pregnancy and successful labor and delivery.

I did not personally meet Dr. Brown but I met with the NP Shawanda and she was THE BEST! So very nice, personable and attentive. The entire staff were very professional and friendly and gave clear instructions. I would definitely refer anyone to give them a try. Also, the phlebotomist Alane was so gentle!! I will be returning.
