My philosophy is focused on caring for patients with a holistic approach, ensuring that both their mental and medical needs are met. This comprehensive care helps patients and their families achieve optimal mental health outcomes. I hold a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Alabama, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate and effective care.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I provide patient centered care. This means that the patient is involved in their care and makes the ultimate decision to help improve their mental health.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I first obtain pertinent information and history from the client by way of listening and simple conversation. I review diagnosis, medication options, side effects, therapy option and more with my clients. Give them time for any questions.

Mrs. Howard made me feel seen and heard upon our initial intake and in regards to mental health, finding that trust and support early on is such a weight lifted off my shoulders. Shawn was the absolute best mental health practitioner that I have seen. She was so kind, knowledgable, and patient, and really listened and cared. She explained the prescriptions we were starting very well and explained why she wanted to choose these medications, as well as went over the side effects. Shawn is just such a pleasant person and I felt so much better and so supported after our visit.
