What is your typical process for working with clients?

My goal is to make the treatment process feel comfortable, collaborative, and easy to understand from the very beginning. During the initial evaluation, we will spend time discussing your current concerns, symptoms, emotional stressors, medical and mental health history, sleep patterns, lifestyle factors, past treatment experiences, and personal goals for care. I take a thorough and thoughtful approach to understanding the full picture before making recommendations. After completing the assessment, we will discuss possible diagnoses, treatment options, and whether medication may be beneficial. I believe in educating patients about their options so they can make informed decisions about their care. Medication management visits focus not only on symptom improvement, but also on monitoring effectiveness, side effects, overall functioning, and long-term wellness. In addition to medication management, I incorporate supportive therapy techniques into sessions, including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, stress-management strategies, and emotional support. I believe therapy and medication can work together to help patients achieve meaningful and lasting progress. Follow-up appointments are tailored to each patient’s individual needs and may include reviewing symptoms, adjusting medications when appropriate, discussing coping strategies, addressing life stressors, and tracking overall progress toward treatment goals. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and judgment-free, with an emphasis on helping patients feel supported, empowered, and actively involved in their mental health journey.
