Getting to know Sheri Nielsen Rockwood

I have always had a passion for helping people with mental health issues. I received my first bachelor's degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University, then went on to earn a second bachelor's degree, a master's in Family Nursing, and a post-master's certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing-all from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. I worked as a registered nurse-primarily on a psychiatric unit-before becoming board certified as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I take an integrated approach to care, believing in the importance of building a strong therapeutic alliance and giving my patients a voice in their treatment. I treat individuals across the lifespan, meeting each person where they are and partnering with them to achieve their best possible outcomes.
