“Shirley has genuinely changed my life, I had seen providers before her, all of whom either dismissed what I was experiencing or told me to just it was just getting older. I was exhausted, not sleeping, very anxious, my moods were all over the place, and I kept being told everything looked "normal" on paper. Shirley actually listened to what I was dealing with. She explained my options for hormone therapy in a way that was not so scary and never once made me feel rushed or bad for asking questions. Since starting treatment with her, I'm sleeping again, I'm not nearly as stressed out, my energy is back, and I feel like a version of myself I had honestly given up on. Beyond just treatments she takes a whole-picture approach to midlife wellness and let me take baby steps so it isn't so overwhelming. If you've been feeling off, have symptoms that you don't want to admit or want a a provider who actually gets you and understands how to treat women in midlife, Shirley is all of it. ”

“Shirley takes a comprehensive view of women’s health by helping to address their daily concerns, while also delving deeper into the bigger picture. Not only is she highly trained and up-to-date on all of the newest research in the field of menopause, she also brings her extensive experience as a cardiac nurse practitioner to the table, which is a huge component of women’s health. She has made a significant impact on my overall well-being by managing my symptoms, sleep, and general wellness. I did not realize how in need of her services I was. While I initially saw her to manage excessive hot flashes, I have benefited in many more ways than I had anticipated. There is much more to this transition than we are aware of, and Shirley is factual, professional, knowledgeable, and an asset and advocate for women navigating this significant transition in their lives.”

About Shirley Hartman

A dual-certified Nurse Practitioner and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. I opened Dreava Health because I wanted women in midlife to finally have a place where they feel heard, understood, and cared for in a thoughtful, individualized way. Like many women, I didn’t recognize the early signs of perimenopause myself. I experienced hot flashes, brain fog, and difficulty sleeping—and at the time, I didn’t understand the connection. That personal experience changed the way I think about midlife care and strengthened my commitment to helping women understand what is happening in their bodies long before they reach menopause. After years of working in a traditional, rushed medical setting and experiencing it myself, I wanted to create a better approach. At Dreava Health, I take my time, listen closely, and work in true partnership with each patient. My care style is personalized, calm, compassionate, and grounded in science. I want you to feel comfortable telling your story and confident in the plan we create together through shared decision-making. I have spent more than 20 years as a family and acute care nurse practitioner, caring for critically ill patients in cardiothoracic surgery and acute care. Prevention wasn’t part of that world, even though I always felt drawn to nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and supporting people in maintaining their long-term health. Those years strengthened my clinical judgment and patient advocacy skills, and they also revealed how much traditional healthcare overlooks in supporting whole-person, preventive midlife care. That perspective shapes the way I practice today and the meaningful connection I bring to every visit at Dreava Health.

Shirley Hartman, NP has made the biggest difference in my mindset and health. I had extreme anxiety, was waking up at 2 am daily and could not go back to sleep, and had heart palpitations to name a few menopause symptoms. Because of her direction and guidance, I am now on the correct medication that made me feel 100x better. I am so thankful for the time and attention she gave me. It made all the difference.
Shirley took the time to sit down and truly listened to all my concerns. For the first time I felt heard by a provider! I will definitely be coming back to see her.
Very attentive to my needs. She took the time to address all my concerns & showed compassion with her care! I couldn't recommend her more.
Very thorough, felt heard and she addressed to my concerns while also educating me on therapies. We made a plan together that would fully encompass my symptoms/situation.
Shirley is the type of provider that truly listens. She wants you to be involved with your own care so you can make informed decisions.
