“I booked with an appointment for Dr . Shivan. Her assistant checked on me and told Dr. Shivan will come and check. I waited in the room ~ 20-25 min then I told them when he will come. She told that he is still on another room in the appointment. I couldn't wait more. She did final check and instructions for my Vertigo case.
I just think the process wasn't handled well. If they are busy with appointments, they shouldn't have right schedule, allow to each patient their time. It's poorly handled. ”

About Dr. Shivan Amin
Dr. Amin earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, followed by general surgery training at the University of California San Francisco. He completed advanced head and neck surgery training with Kaiser Permanente Northern California, gaining extensive experience managing complex ENT and airway conditions. He then pursued specialized fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Emory University, where he refined advanced techniques in functional and aesthetic facial surgery.

Dr. Amin and the Midtown ENT staff were AMAZING!!! Dr. Amin listened and understood what I communicated easily. The staff Renee and Ms. Nancy were so warm and comfronting they made me feel right at home. After going to the Urgent Care and ER. Dr. Amin was the ONLY provider to diagnose me correctly the FIRST time. I was experiencing my throat closing which was terrifying and he gave me answers and peace. He prescribed the right medication and I began to feel better very soon. Thank you Dr. Amin, Renee, Nancy and the team!

I am a new patient and felt a little nervous about seeing a doctor, but everyone was very nice. I waited less than ten minutes. Dr. Amin is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and offers helpful advice for my situation. The procedure he conducted was very smooth and not uncomfortable. He genuinely cares about his patients.

He did all the appropriate diagnostic tests I was hoping for.
He also was very knowledgable and offered advice in other areas (caffeine intake) that might help my situation.
After weeks of misery with no end in sight, Dr. Amin gave me confidence (and the meds to help) that I will be better soon.

The visit lacked empathy and professionalism.
After waiting over an hour to be seen, I finally saw the doctor, and I felt dismissed. Despite explaining my recurring infections and treatment history, his initial advice was simply to “continue what you’re doing.” I had to push for alternatives and a treatment plan, which should have been offered without prompting.
His suggestions, such as asking if I eat healthy, probing further about sugar and fried foods after I said yes, and implying I should exercise more despite working out regularly, felt condescending and judgmental. These comments made it seem like my lifestyle was the issue, rather than addressing the medical concern I came in for.
I’d encourage Dr. Amin to focus on listening to patients without making assumptions and to provide empathetic care tailored to individual needs. A more respectful and thoughtful approach would make a significant difference.

He had great bedside manner and was very patient as I asked a list of questions/concerns I wanted to address during my appointment.
