About Shoshana Farber
Shoshana Farber, WHNP, is a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and a self-described birth control-ogist, offering high-quality sexual and reproductive health care for all genders at Southwest Family Physicians in Tigard, Oregon. She earned her Master’s in Women’s Health Nursing from MGH Institute of Health Professions.
Shoshana creates a space where it is safe and encouraged to talk about what we don't usually talk about. She believes each person knows themselves best and honors bodily autonomy. Her practice is grounded in the principles of cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and the BIPOC-led movement for reproductive justice.
She provides a full range of birth control and menstrual management options, including long-acting reversible contraceptives such as IUDs, IUCs, and the arm implant.
In addition to contraceptives, Shoshana specializes in sexually transmitted disease (STD) and sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment, along with strategies for prevention and harm reduction, including PrEP.
She is also happy to help with Pap testing, urinary tract infection (UTI) and vaginitis care, gender-affirming care, pregnancy testing, options counseling, and pain with sex or vestibulodynia management.

I am so happy that Zoc Doc helped me find Southwest Family physicians and I love how seamless the process was. Shosana was excellent. By far the best experience I've had for any gynecology appointment.. she was kind, listened to me fully, was very thorough and answered all my questions. She gave very consent-focused care and even let me perform my own sample collection. She didn't rush the appointment at all. I would recommend her to anyone needing a gynecologist, especially to someone with a history of trauma.

Dr. Farber was so sweet and kind during my visit. She made me feel comfortable talking about my questions and concerns. Highly recommend her for reproductive healthcare.
The only downside to the appointment was that I had a few other concerns she was unable to address; but she quickly set me up for another appointment with someone more experienced in that area.
The assistant was very pleasant and friendly. I was seen very quickly. And the facility was clean and organized. The girls at the front desk did not say much - but I've worked in reception and understand sometimes they are busy doing several additional things we aren't aware of.
Overall a great experience.

I would definitely go back--the staff was all extremely sweet, and Dr. Faber was knowledgeable, warm, and accommodating. She made me feel super comfortable in a situation where I normally would not feel that way. I can't recommend them highly enough!
