About Dr. Shruti Patel

Dr. Patel strives to provide patient-centered care by listening to her patients, developing mutual trust and respect, and focusing on shared decision making. She is passionate about preventative medicine and the importance of nutrition and life-style modifications in the management of various gastrointestinal diseases. Dr. Patel is a Las Vegas native and completed her undergraduate degree in biochemistry/pre-med at UNLV and earned her medical degree from University of Nevada School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at University of California Davis in Sacramento. She then went onto be a Chief resident at UC Davis for an additional year teaching residents, doing research in hepatology, and leading quality improvement projects at the VA medical center. She trained at Methodist Health Systems in Dallas for her gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship. During training, she conducted research in management of acute pancreatitis and liver cirrhosis, managed patients with advanced liver disease, pancreaticobiliary disease, and general gastrointestinal disorders. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, camping, traveling, cooking, trying out new restaurants and coffee shops, doing barre/yoga, and playing board games. She is very excited to be setting her roots down in Sonoma County and serving this wonderful community.
