About Dr. Sidney Stein

Dr. Sidney Stein completed his B.A. degree at New York University-University College in 1972. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, in 1979. Dr. Stein is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, a position he has held since 1994. He was elected as a member of the Medical Board of Beth Israel Medical Center in 1990 and continues to serve in that role. He also served as President of the Board in 2001 and 2002.
Dr. Stein was named in New York Magazine's Best Doctor List from 2001 to 2008.

Amazing Dr. and excellent staff. As a pleasant bonus the office is super nice and clean and very beautiful so the few times I waited for someone I didn't mind. I can not say enough about this Dr. though. his bedside manner was amazing. He took the time to answer my most trivial questions and explained my situation and outlook in detail. He never rushed me and I never felt hurried. So glad my PCP referred me to Dr. Stein!!

I was extremely impressed with Dr. Stein. He was extremely thorough and honed in on important distinctions, questioning me carefully about symptoms and timing. His self-effacing manner put me at ease. He is listening, listening, listening to everything you say. He seems to resist any jumping to conclusions and treats you like an individual. I could not recommend him more highly.

Dr. Stein and the folks in his office were great. Paperwork was quick to sign in as a new patient, the wait was less than 10 minutes, I was seen almost immediately after sitting in the examination room, and Dr. Stein was thorough in addressing my concerns without dragging the exam on for long. There were some points when I felt cut off from explaining what was going on, but I'm guessing it's because he had more specific questions to better diagnose things. Overall, though, it was a good experience.

My visit was great. Dr. Stein is the kind of doctor I prefer - hands-on, knowledgeable, personable and an overall good person. I was surprised he performed all the duties the mid office usually performs, but that's what makes the experience a lot more personable. Great bedside manner. He answered all my questions without the sales pitch feel. I think I found my new PCP.
Practice notes: I had to put my CC number down (I chose over the phone of course) before I could book my appointment - which is precaution for no shows. This is explained in the forms you sign when you arrive. Wait time wasn't long after my schedule time.
