Sifat comes to the LifeStance Health team after working as a registered nurse at an inpatient psychiatric hospital for nearly five years. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, she is responsible for diagnosing and creating treatment plans for patients, while ensuring that the care her patients receive meets and exceeds the professional standards of LifeStance.
Sifat has managed the care of patients with a variety of psychiatric disorders while simultaneously handling the responsibilities of a charge nurse on a crisis stabilization unit. When the hospital she worked at switched to an EMR system, she taught classes and provided one-to-one peer training in EMR to her team members to ensure their workflow was not disrupted by this change. During the Covid pandemic, her unit was temporarily converted to only accept Covid-positive patients with psychiatric disorders, where Sifat provided direct care while adapting day-to-day changes on safety, infection control, and monitoring symptoms of both medical and psychiatric conditions.
Sifat holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and earned her Master's in Mental Health Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Hunter College of the City University of New York.
As an expert in the mental health field, Sifat also recognizes the importance of self-care and makes time for hobbies she enjoys, such as cooking, practicing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.

I did a virtual medication-management visit and she was very helpful and efficient! I will say the quality of the virtual app is not great. And the app/patient portal are not that user friendly. But aside from the technology aspect, it was a good visit!

Sifat Ara Ameen is honestly God sent. Mere words cannot express my sincere gratitude. The safe space was created almost instantaneously, allowing me to feel open relaxed and comfortable. She was caring, compassionate and straight forward.
