About Dr. Silvi Simon

Growing up with both my parents in the medical field, I was naturally exposed to the world of medicine early on. I quickly discovered my passion, often playing ?pretend doctor,? and the hospital environment always excited me. Today, I am living my lifelong dream of treating patients and being part of their healing team. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine, completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Stamford Hospital, and pursued a Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Texas, Houston. I personally chose nephrology because my uncle had kidney disease requiring dialysis and eventually passed away. I grew to love nephrology because of the intricacy of the kidneys and the daily change of pace and scenery?moving from the hospital to the outpatient clinic to the dialysis units. I appreciate the diversity of my patient population and enjoy the stories and long-term relationships I form with patients and their families while treating their underlying medical illnesses. I believe it is a privilege to be entrusted with the confidential medical care of my patients. Those with kidney disease face many challenges and restrictions, especially patients on dialysis. I believe it is critical not only to direct them on what to do but also to listen carefully, helping them identify and address any personal barriers that may prevent them from accomplishing their goals. I strive to take a holistic approach when treating my patients.
