What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is progressive and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, mindfulness techniques, and person centered approaches. Together, we’ll choose the methods that feel most effective and comfortable for you. I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate a wide range of challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep issues, life transitions, and relationship dynamics. I have a particular passion for working with survivors of domestic violence, offering a compassionate space for healing and growth. You can expect our sessions to be collaborative and focused on your goals. Whether you're looking to improve communication, process difficult emotions, or gain insight into yourself and your relationships, we’ll work at your pace to create meaningful change. I believe that growth happens when we embrace both the good and the difficult parts of ourselves and others. If you’re ready to take the first step, I’m here to walk alongside you, one moment at a time. We’ll focus on building self awareness, resilience, and strategies to help you create the life you want. My ultimate goal is to empower you to feel more in control, confident, and capable as you move through life’s challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me is designed to be a collaborative, supportive, and meaningful experience that focuses on your unique needs and goals. When you walk in, we’ll start with a brief check-in to see how you've been doing since our last session, including any challenges, victories, or new developments you’d like to discuss. If it’s your first session, we’ll spend some time exploring your history, concerns, and goals for therapy. I’ll ask questions to get to know you better and ensure that you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. Each session is flexible and can include a combination of: Discussion and Reflection: We’ll talk about what’s on your mind, explore patterns in your thoughts or behaviors, and process emotions or situations that feel heavy or unresolved. Skill Building: Depending on your needs, we might practice techniques to help manage anxiety, improve communication, navigate conflict, or regulate emotions. These could include mindfulness exercises, grounding techniques, or tools to reframe negative thoughts. Goal Oriented Focus: We’ll revisit your therapy goals, track progress, and adjust as needed to ensure we’re addressing what’s most important to you. Exploration and Insight: If it’s relevant, we might dive deeper into underlying issues, such as past experiences, relational dynamics, or limiting beliefs that may be affecting your present. I aim to create a session environment that feels comfortable and empowering. While I may guide the conversation or suggest strategies, your voice and experiences are always at the center. Some sessions may feel more action-oriented, while others may involve deeper reflection or emotional processing, depending on where you are that day.
