Skye Blaesing, PMHNP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
6232 N 7th St, Ste 101, Phoenix, AZ
I was drawn to psychiatry by my belief that mental health is essential to our overall quality of life, yet it is often the first thing to be deprioritized when life becomes overwhelming. I believe strongly that no one should have to navigate these challenges alone and that seeking support is a profound sign of strength, never a cause for shame. My approach is holistic, patient-centered, and grounded in the idea that lifestyle changes and mindfulness are powerful partners to traditional therapies and medication. I prioritize building a foundation of trust, ensuring I understand your unique experiences so we can work together to improve your functioning and help you truly enjoy your life again. Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I began my career in med/surg oncology. Witnessing patients navigate grief and loss solidified my desire to treat the "whole person." I have since gained deep experience in residential eating disorder programs, addiction treatment facilities, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. These roles allowed me to support individuals through acute crises, trauma, and complex co-occurring conditions. Specializing in depression, anxiety, OCD, and insomnia, I feel most comfortable working with young adults, middle-aged adults, and survivors of trauma or abuse. My goal is to provide a calm, attentive space where you feel encouraged to regain your stability and confidence. When I’m not in the clinic, I love spending time with my dogs, which is my biggest focus outside of work. I also enjoy being outdoors, whether hiking or running, cooking new recipes, streaming shows, and playing video games. I am deeply passionate about animal rescue and welfare advocacy, and I am committed to a lifelong mission of adopting and caring for animals in need.

What should a new client know about working with you?

A quick note on insurance: I know navigating insurance plans and copays can be confusing, so I want to be upfront about coverage before you book. I’m in-network with most health insurance plans, but I want to make sure there are no surprises when it comes to billing. At this time, I’m not in-network with Medicaid plans, including AHCCCS (Arizona Medicaid) and Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid) — even if they’re combined with another type of insurance. Due to state regulations, I’m unable to see patients with Medicaid coverage. If your insurance card lists your plan as a Community Plan, it is a Medicaid-sponsored health plan and is not accepted at our practice. I truly wish I could treat everyone, but unfortunately, some types of coverage prevent me from providing care. If this applies to you, I completely understand how frustrating that may be and encourage you to check with your plan for in-network providers who can meet your needs.
