Dr. Slawomir John Puszkarski was born in Poland. At a young age, he moved with his family to Chicago, Illinois where he began his academic career. Dr. Puszkarski attended the University of Chicago and the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, where he received his medical degree. While in medical school he developed a great interest in psychiatry. After finishing medical school, Dr. Puszkarski moved back to Chicago with his family and began his psychiatry residency at the University of Chicago where he became a chief resident. Afterwards he trained in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship program. After his training, Dr. Puszkarski began to work in his private practice along with his wife, Dr. Lucyna Puszkarska, and Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois where he was an attending psychiatrist and also the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry.
