Getting into medicine was my childhood dream. I grew up with an uncle who was a pediatrician, and from a very young age, I saw the kind of impact he had on our family and friends, which inspired me to follow in his footsteps. I earned my Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Secunderabad. I then completed my residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois, Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, followed by a fellowship in Nephrology at Wayne State University. What I love most about my patients and my practice is the joy and relief I see on their faces when they recover from illness. I am also grateful for the long-term bonds I establish with patients and their families, especially in nephrology, where kidney disease is a lifelong ordeal. My philosophy of care is to speak a language patients understand. Often, patients and their families feel overwhelmed and confused by medical jargon, so I strive to make things as simple as possible. This helps them understand their disease process and make informed decisions about their care.
