Dr. Sonal Harneja is board-certified in adult psychiatry and specializes in medication management and various psychotherapies to treat anxiety and depressive disorders. Dr. Harneja completed her undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University and received her medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (now called Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences). She completed her adult psychiatry residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Harneja has held academic appointments at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College and Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and has provided collaborative, client-centered care in various settings serving diverse populations in NY.
Dr. Harneja’s practice focuses on medication management and supportive psychotherapy in 30-minute follow-up visits, as well as promoting well-being, resilience, and mindfulness. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.
