“I would highly recommend Dr. Burton. I've had some bad experiences with past dermatologists and am so glad I found a good doctor. The office staff were very friendly and I was taken back right away. They explained everything to me thoroughly and I felt comfortable. I really appreciate Dr. Borton taking the time to explain things to me and kept asking if I had any other questions or anything else I needed to talk about. I'm used to doctors giving me a quick check and racing out the door before I have a chance to ask any questions. I appreciate a doctor who takes the time to speak with me. ”

About Dr. Sonya Burton
Based in Bethesda, MD, Dr. Sonya Burton is a board-certified dermatologist. She is skilled at addressing a wide range of skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, abscesses, acne, and fungal infections.
Dr. Burton received her medical degree from Indiana University and completed her internship at Henry Ford Hospital. She completed her residency in dermatology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, and her residency in pathology, anatomic and clinical, at the University of Michigan Medical Center. She further advanced her training by finishing multiple fellowships, including a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Chicago, fellowship in transfusion medicine at Ohio State University, and a fellowship at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology.

I had a consultation with Dr. Burton on Match 12. The video visit was easy, however, follow-up and communication has been horrible. I have been having an issue with my insurance covering a medication, I have been trying to contact them by phone since my appointment leaving many voicemails and they have yet to respond or take any action. God help anyone in an emergency.

Dr Burton is so intelligent and insightful. I had a bit of a wait due to them being short staffed, but it was worth the wait!! I felt extremely comfortable discussing my various issues and I’m so happy I discovered this office! Best dermatologist I’ve ever had! She gave me advice and insight into the implications of my options- more than any dermatologist I’ve ever had. Dr Burton is clearly very passionate. Highly recommend
