He was the most helpful doctor I've seen regarding psychiatric medicine/diagnosis. He spent plenty of time with me in order to find a proper diagnosis and treatment plan as well as provided me with numerous resources to help me find all I might need.

I was so impressed by Dr. Bircea on my first visit and really look forward to working with him. I have seen many psychiatrists over the years and no one has taken as much time as he did to educate meabout my diagnoses. I have two co-morbid disorders and Dr. Bircea is the first doctor I've found who seems to understand both disorders and how they interact. He gave me tons of resources and readings to better understand and manage my disorders and he even recommended therapists and lifestyle changes to optimize my treatment. The office was clean and welcoming, the receptionist was friendly and helpful, and I saw Dr. Bircea at my scheduled time - no wait! I highly recommend Dr. Bircea.

If I could give zero star, that’s what I would give him. He was cold, and didn’t send his medical notes to insurance company for 4 months even after repeated efforts. He had no care whatsoever. He just prescribes medicine and no care for the patient. Absolute horror.

I am truly disgusted by the way I've been treated by this doctor. I have seen him a number of times and I know it takes a while for any professional to get to know a new patient and really understandtheir situation, but each time I have seen him, Bircea has been completely unprofessional and incredibly disrespectful to me. I thought maybe because of how great his other reviews are that there was a fluke and I caught him on an off day after the first session, so I decided to give it an honest try and continued booking appointments, but his bedside manner has devolved into completely unacceptable behavior. He has not listened to anything I said to him and actively manipulated my words without ever giving me a chance to clarify or correct his misunderstandings. He constantly threatened to call 911 and send me to the hospital, often cutting me off with these threats while I was trying to explain my symptoms, and repeatedly suggested I see a different doctor. Yet, he still wanted to prescribe me multiple medications, despite making it obvious that he did not care to listen to what my current symptoms or struggles were. He also refused to adjust my medication after I told him it was too strong for me. Not once did he ask about my current situation, deferring only to what I had written in my medical history paperwork. He has rushed me out of his office during every single appointment and never stopped to explain things or ask if I had any questions or concerns about anything he said. This man is absolutely terrible and I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. The only positive part of my experience was with the receptionist, Alina, who was always very courteous. It seems to me that she cares more about the patient's wellbeing than the doctor himself. I wish I never set foot in this horrible man's office.

Dr. Bircea is the best therapist I have seen in many years. Dr. Bircea takes the time to evaluate, educate, and offer solutions to your issues. As a Hospital Administrator for a respectable institution, I was impressed by Dr. Birceaknowledge and expertise on my ADD/ADHD condition. Most importantly, he is ethical, and he will abide by the FDA standard guidelines. Please, you won't be disappointed on your first visit. This doctor deserves more than five stars for what he has done for me.

Dr sorin definitely doesn’t make it feel welcoming when you first meet him - He gives you the feel that you are just another person to him that he’s going to give meds to. Doesn’t seem like he truly even caressince he didn’t t even ask me about what has made me seek help in the first place. All he wanted to know was the issue I had, a very brief background on it (and I mean brief) and that’s all. He seemed so judgemental, disapproving and a bit confrontational and just didn’t make me feel comfortable opening up to him. The receptionist was very nice and the office is small but bey well kept and clean.

Dr. Bircia is a wonderful Psychiatrist. I saw him for about two years. He takes a holistic view of his patients' health and well being. Its not just about medicine. He is caring and helped me more than I can say. Highly recommended. The office staff is phenomenal.

Complete waste of time. The entire appointment was just a very rude and insensitive advertisement for his partner's practice in Manhattan. He kept interrupting and talking over me all to push a sales pitch for a financial trap for one ofhis buddies that doesn't take my insurance and he knew this. Ends session with "Good luck... you're REALLY gonna need it."

I'm only 24 but I've been to many therapists and psychiatrists in my lifetime. The majority of psychiatrists I meet are very old, forgetful, and usually just want to increase your dosage. Dr. Bircea is honestly the best psychiatrist I've everhad. When you meet with him his time is really dedicated to helping you and he strives to be as clear and open as possible. I've haven't left an appointment disappointed. The secretary is always kind and the waiting room/office is very pleasant and modern. If I had to complain about anything it would be the wait time, but it's usually less than half an hour and with his amount of patients it's completely reasonable. 5/5 stars, highly reccomend

I spent a couple years giving up on serious mental health treatment or medication, in no small part because of my frustration with every psychiatrist I spoke to. Dr Bircea finally helped me settle into a routine. He's practical, never patronizing,is happy to talk about the research behind various meds with honesty about pros and cons. He makes suggestions based on my concerns and feedback and makes sure I have other tools and support along with medication. Unlike the other pill-mill psychiatrists I've seen, he actually seems to care about his patients's well-being

It is clear that Dr Bircea is a licensed psychiatrist. The only other facts about him that I can garner from one meeting, is that he is insensitive. Especially to the very real and obvious side effect of poverty: not enoughmoney for everything he knows (and to his credit, explains extensively) are necessary to pay for when taking psychotropic medications.

My experiences with Dr. B have been positive. He was friendly and put me at ease. He also provided a lot of information and resources to help treat my condition in addition to medication (i.e. the right foods to eat andlifestyle changes to make, specific books and websites to look it, etc). Overall he has been a very thorough doctor who is helping me to find the right treatment for my disorder.

I was trepidatious about seeing a psychiatrist but Dr Bircea's office felt inviting and calming as soon as I entered. The receptionist was very nice and chatted with me about my kids, etc before I saw the doctor. I felt socomfortable and that was a huge deal for me. The office was clean and well kept also. The doctor was thorough and talked me through everything from further recommendations, to treatment options to other professionals that may be helpful. I highly recommend Dr Bircea.

He wanted me to get some tests that costed thousands of dollars and were not covered by insurance. When I balked at the price, and asked about alternatives, he essentially said he didn't want me as a patient. He refused toexplain further, but perhaps he didn't think he'd make enough money out of a patient who was sensitive to cost? In any case, I can't think of a justifiable reason for cutting me off and not explaining further, so I think that's a pretty bad way to treat someone. He did ask me to get an EKG, and the doctor who gave me one said that didn't really make any sense and was not normal. That's another reason to be suspicious. Since I only had one appointment, I can't speak to his ability to treat. In other ways he came across reasonably.
