About Dr. Stanley Skopit

Dr. Stanley Skopit is a Board Certified Dermatologist, Diplomate of the National Board, and Fellow of Distinction and Past President of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (AOCD). He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University and completed his Residency in Dermatology at Nova Southeastern University. As both an educator and physician, Dr. Skopit serves as Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Larkin Community Hospital and is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Nova Southeastern University Health Professions Division. His practice focuses on general and cosmetic dermatology, including the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the skin, hair, and nails.
Since beginning his practice in 1981 in Pompano Beach, Florida, Dr. Skopit has been the CEO and President of A Center For Dermatology. He has authored numerous articles for prominent dermatology journals and co-authored a chapter on dermatologic diagnosis in a major textbook. Dr. Skopit and his staff are dedicated not only to treating dermatological diseases but also to helping patients improve their appearance through facial rejuvenation using lasers, chemical peels, collagen implantation, and BOTOX and Restylane for facial lines and wrinkles.
Dr. Skopit is the program director of the dermatology residency training program, as well as the Mohs and Dermatopathology Fellowships affiliated with Larkin Community Hospital. He is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at NSU-COM and an Associate Professor of Clinical Sciences at NSU-MD. Recently, Dr. Skopit was elected to the Board of Trustees of Des Moines University.

I went in and had an appt around 3:10 and got seen at 3:58. I did not see the doctor I booked. They let me in and asked minimal questions then said the doctor was coming in. She was in there for less than 2 minutes and barely looked at my issue before saying your gonna take this antibiotic for ten days then left. I got left with zero diagnosis or explanation of what was happening. Then was told to come back 10 days later to “see if it worked”. Worse doctor experience.

I wasn't seen by Stanley, another dr saw me instead. He came in looked at me for two seconds and asked me to come again if anything changes. I feel like I need a second opinion now because I don't feel confident that he checked thoroughly. Will not go again.

I set up an appointment to see Dr. Skopit, and I was paired with a different doctor (without being told so)... 30 minutes late after I arrived and had completed all admission documentation.
This doctor was rushed, interrupted multiple times, bragged about getting straight As in medical school (one of his interruptions, which I did not ask about), and did not do a full skin exam like how he was supposed to. All he said, besides bragging about himself, is to come back in 6 months if anything changes with my mole I was having looked at. He only looked at parts of my leg, parts of my hand, and the mole. He did not look at my scalp, back, or rest of my body to check for melanoma. He spoke so fast, and I could not understand him. When I would wait half a second to think and see if I had a question, he would start bragging or move on hurriedly. I had a much more pleasant encounter and got much better advice from the CNA. This "doctor" did not give me any advice or steps for the future.

Appointment at office was fantastic and the individuals that resolved my problem were fantastic.
Problem is was to have three prescriptions sent to Publix pharmacy at Palm Aire 1140 sw36th Avenue Pompano Beach Florida were never sent called Pharmacy 10 minutes ago and they had nothing and tried to call the office and waited 15 minutes and nobody answered the phone and two prescriptions were antibiotics and the other a lotion for serious rash.
So am starting to question my choice, if someone could let me know what’s happening would be great but won’t hold my breath on that one.

If you think you're right about your condition/symptoms, stick with your gut and lay it all out to them in undeniable terms with only the FACTS. I basically had to convince them I had a certain condition which they repeatedly denied based upon repeated negative biopsy results, until I actually had concrete undeniable proof. So I had a false negative biopsy. Not this doctors or the office's fault, rather was simply the nature of my rare condition.

There was a slight mix-up with the appointment, but when I called the office, they still fit me in to be seen on the day I requested.
The doctor I saw had an excellent bedside manner and listened to my concerns. He made sure to give me an advanced warning of any additional charges that I might incur.
The office is brand new and impeccably clean. All the staff was amiable and welcoming.
I was highly impressed with this office; it may just become my regular dermatology office.

Need improvement on bedside manners . The doctor pretty much judge me as a black girl . Telling me just by looking he can tell it’s alopecia tractions and to stay away from tight wigs. When I responded I don’t wear wigs , he then said well stay away from tight pulling hair styles and wear your own hair for a while . Which I’m natural and been wearing my own hair . So I asked do you not do any kind of testing or you solely go off “just by looking “ . Then he said well I can if you want to . Omg this is just half of it
