What should a new client know about working with you?

Stasha is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a foundation in emergency nursing and a long-standing commitment to whole-person care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors from Belmont University and graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Science in Nursing from Austin Pea State University. Stasha’s career began as a lifestyle coach, supporting individuals in overcoming internal obstacles and building meaningful change. That passion for guiding people through challenges led her to become an Emergency Medical Technician. While volunteering with the California Medical Assistance Team, she regularly trained with the Disaster Medical Assistance Team and participated in joint federal exercises with Urban Search and Rescue, gaining experience in crisis response and collaborative fieldwork. She went on to work as a registered nurse in the emergency department, where she developed strong clinical instincts in rapid assessment, emergency care and interdisciplinary teamwork. Caring for individuals and families in acute physical and psychological distress deepened her interest in mental health and ultimately guided her path to becoming a PMHNP. Today, that foundation informs her trauma-aware, integrative approach to psychiatric care. With a holistic and nonjudgmental perspective, Stasha is committed to thoughtful, evidence-based treatment that supports individuals in achieving stability and well-being—while honoring the mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of health. She values honest conversation, genuine connection, and collaborative care plans that meet people where they are. She brings this depth of experience into her psychiatric practice, offering thorough, person-centered assessment and care. Returning to the Pacific Northwest from Nashville, Stasha is excited to join the Head Well team and honored to support the mental health and well-being of the Eugene community and the greater Oregon region.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

People seek new psychiatric providers for a variety of reasons, but regardless of the impetus, the process can be challenging and anxiety-provoking. You should be congratulated for taking the steps to care for yourself properly! If you choose to move forward with our practice, after requesting a new patient appointment, someone from our office will reach out to verify your insurance and/or payment information. You will receive several forms and consents. These must be completed prior to your appointment. Please note, we will not be able to move forward with the appointment without receiving this information in a timely manner. The information will help structure your comprehensive evaluation. During our first meeting, we will discuss your psychiatric history and symptoms and other aspects of your life like your work, routines, diet, relationships, and physical activity. Short, validated self-assessments will be used to help track progress. If interested, personality assessment can be incorporated which may provide insight into patterns and issues helping to guide our path forward. We will establish long- and short-term goals and build a holistic plan for achieving those goals which may include traditional psychiatric medication, supplements, and supportive wellness interventions/practices. Typically, we will follow up in 2-4 weeks to assess progress and adjust and realign our path forward. As we gain better control of symptoms and you start to feel better, we will incorporate more lifestyle and behavioral interventions to maximize the benefits of treatment, support lasting change, and optimize wellness. Along the way, appointments will become less frequent, possibly every 3 or 6 months, depending on the type of treatment.
