It felt robotic, unempathetic, and my issues were not addressed and no responsibility was taken on their side. I will say that the doctor at least apologized, so I’m moving on (hence why this will not be so in depth), and I was able to get the care that I need which is all I want because it’s healthcare is sensitive and vulnerable and stressful and I feel like the provider herself understood that. So I’m happy.”

Stephanie M. Thompson, M.D. is a Reproductive Endocrinologist and infertility specialist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Thompson received her undergraduate degree in Spanish from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC and her medical degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University Medical Center and completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. “I was drawn to reproductive medicine because of my fascination with the continually developing science behind it. As a field of medical study it is extremely dynamic. “ Dr. Thompson has received many honors throughout her academic career and has actively contributed to the scientific literature in the field of reproductive endocrinology. Her ongoing research includes “Single vs. Double IUI for Male Factor Infertility” and “Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) stimulation of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) in immortalized endometrial stromal cells”. “I have found it a privilege to develop relationships with individuals and couples during such an important time in their lives. I have always had a keen interest in women’s health and the issues of nutrition, weight management and conception. Being an RE gives me the opportunity to work with women on all of these fronts combined.
