Stephanie Martinez, PA-C

Physician Assistant (Psychiatry)
501 Davis St, Evanston, IL
I strive to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental, and empowering care to support my patients in navigating their mental health. I am committed to meeting each patient where they are in their journey. I earned my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Dominican University, where I received comprehensive clinical training across diverse settings. During my training, I gained experience in behavioral health at Lake Behavioral Hospital, working with patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting. I also completed outpatient rotations in nursing homes, caring for elderly patients with conditions such as sleep disturbances, dementia, and depression. Additionally, I trained at the Danville Veterans Affairs hospital, where I was exposed to a broad range of medical and mental health conditions. During my family medicine rotation, I worked with patients managing chronic psychiatric conditions, including schizophrenia, mood disorders, and substance use disorders. I have experience working with adolescents and adults and have a strong interest in treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. I prioritize individualized treatment planning and aim to build strong, trusting relationships with my patients. My approach is collaborative and holistic, integrating medication management with an understanding of each patient’s unique background, lifestyle, and support system. I believe that building trust and understanding is essential to meaningful mental health care, and I aim to create a space where patients feel comfortable being open and honest. I am committed to helping my patients build insight, improve functioning, and achieve meaningful, sustainable progress in their mental health.
