About Stephen Hamm
My path into medicine began in the United States Air Force, where I served for more than 20 years as a physician assistant providing family medicine, urgent care and occupational medicine to service members and their families, both stateside and overseas. That experience shaped the way I practice today: with discipline, calm under pressure and a genuine commitment to the people in front of me. After my military service, I moved into inpatient medicine, caring for hospitalized patients through admissions, ICU care and consults. I then shifted my focus to outpatient internal medicine, where I managed chronic conditions and helped patients navigate treatments like insulin pump therapy. Today, I practice internal medicine, where I focus on helping adults manage conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and cholesterol issues. I am proud to have been named Physician Assistant of the Year for the Pacific Air Force, an honor that reflected the trust I built with the patients and teams I served. My approach to care is rooted in collaboration. I work closely with physicians, nurses and care coordination teams to make sure every part of a patient's treatment plan fits together and supports their long-term health.
