About Dr. Stephen Somkuti
Dr. Stephen G. Somkuti M.D., Ph.D., is a recognized leader in Infertility and Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Stephen G. Somkuti M.D., Ph.D. recently relocated to Manhattan from Philadelphia. He is a recipient of numerous local, national and international awards, having lectured worldwide, has been a clinical investigator in over 20 major fertility trials. Dr. Somkuti completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Duke University Medical Center and the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He maintains board certification in both disciplines. Additionally, he holds a doctorate degree in male reproductive toxicology from Duke University. Dr Somkuti brings over three decades of clinical patient care and guidance to Ferny New York Fertility.

I had a truly wonderful experience with Dr. Stephen and his entire team. Everything went so smoothly from the welcoming reception to the gentle and efficient blood draw. Everyone was kind, professional, and made me feel completely at ease.
Dr. Stephen took his time to listen, ask questions, and explain everything clearly and simply. He really speaks your language and makes sure you understand. I especially appreciated how punctual he was, ready for me right at the time of my appointment, which is rare.

Dr. Somkuti brings not only deep expertise but rare presence. He took his time, explained every step clearly and simply, and made sure I felt informed, not rushed. He walked me through options I hadn’t considered, without making me feel overwhelmed. We even switched to German when it felt more natural, which made everything more personal.
It’s not often you find someone this sharp who actually listens. If you're looking for a doctor who treats you as a whole person, he's the one.
