About Dr. Steven Gelman

Dr. Steven Gelman is a practicing pediatrician and Medical Director of the NYPBMH Pediatric Outpatient Department. He has lived and worked in Park Slope for over 25 years. He sees patients from newborn up through age 21. His education includes college at Emory University, Hahnemann University Medical School and residency training at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland Ohio creating a great framework for providing excellent care for children and their families. By attending conferences, participating in meetings at the hospital level, and being on multiple committees, Dr. Gelman stays up to date with advances in medical care and is the vaccine coordinator for the practice. His primary location is at 621 Degraw Street, formerly known as Park Slope Pediatrics, and is looking forward to meeting you in the practice or around the neighborhood.

Dr. Gelman is wonderful. Calm, patient, thorough with his answers, reassuring and very considerate of my daughter's preferences and personality.
Dr. Gelman is so much more than a provider. He has known my child since she was born and spent her first days in NICU. He is amazing because while the child is his patient he knows the importance of reading the parents and guiding them to the best care for their child/his patient. He has listened to all my questions, which are novel for me as a first time parent, and we have all benefitted from his knowledge, guidance, and his kind disposition. We are very thankful that his is our child's primary care physician and that he heads the Degraw St. pediatric office.
Dr Gelman is absolutely wonderful. He has been both of my children's primary care doctor. I would trust my children's lives in his hands. He is always easily accessible, always willing to squeeze us in and accessible via email when I like to send him updates or pick his brain about a concern I have regarding my daughters health. He is patient he is kind he is compassionate and even better my kids also love him and never ever mind going to the doctors office to see him. I could not ask for more I am so grateful he is my daughters pcp.
