About Dr. Sumanchandra Patel

Dr. Suman Patel, MD, is a Family Medicine Specialist in Wayne, MI, with over 54 years of experience in the medical field and more than 25 years in family medicine. Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from M.P. Shah Government Medical College, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. He completed his residency in family medicine at Wayne State University Family Practice Program from 1987 to 1990, graduating with honors. Since August 1992, he has served as a Staff Physician at Beaumont Hospital Wayne and Garden City Hospital. He was Chief of the Family Medicine Department at Beaumont Wayne Hospital until 2014. In 2008, he initiated a family practice residency training program for physicians at Beaumont Wayne Hospital. Additionally, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Wayne State University from 2012 to 2018. Dr. Patel is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since 1990 and is recertified through 2028. In recognition of his long-standing community service, he was awarded fellowship by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) in 2009. He is an excellent physician, well-liked by patients of all ages, including the elderly.
