Dr. Sunghun Cho is a board-certified dermatologist with over two decades of clinical experience. A Maryland native, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University (USUHS). He completed his dermatology residency at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Cho served as an officer in the U.S. Army for 27 years, holding clinical and leadership roles across the globe, including assignments in Texas, Colorado, Iraq, Germany, Korea, and Hawaii. In his last military assignment, he served as Vice Chair of Medical Education at USUHS, where he was responsible for developing the dermatology curricula for the next generation of physicians. As teaching faculty at WRNMMC, he also reestablished and directed the Wounded Warrior/Amputee Clinic, utilizing advanced laser therapeutics to treat complex scars and residual limb issues. A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and an Associate Professor at USUHS, Dr. Cho has served as the Dermatology Consultant to three Army Surgeons General and is a past President of the Association of Military Dermatologists. His research and clinical insights have been featured in numerous peer-reviewed journals, as well as the New York Times and Allure magazine. Dr. Cho remains a dedicated advocate for advancing dermatologic care through patient care and education.
