Welcome to Saratoga Wellness. I am glad you are here and are ready to embark on your journey to mental wellness. It’s important that you are familiar with your trusted health care provider, so let me tell you a little about myself. My experience caring for patients over the lifespan and ultimately raising a family of my own has helped me to gain a sincere passion and empathy for the importance of mental wellness. Little did I know at the time how caring for my patients in a neighborhood nursing home as a nurse’s aide would help me grow into the clinician I am today. I am grateful for the education I have which continues to evolve even today so that I can provide evidenced based care to my patients. My undergraduate degrees are from Maria College in Nursing and Russell Sage College in Biology. After many years in maternal child health receiving multiple certifications, I branched out into an educational and business role in health care in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry. However, my continued interest in medicine and the importance of providing exceptional care to patients sparked my desire to return to graduate school while raising my family. Setting out to accomplish this goal was a great testimony to my family and their support during those years. I returned once again to the Sage Colleges to complete a Master’s of Science as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner. As I provided primary care to patients of all ages, I began to appreciate and gain an understanding of the mind-body connection and the role it has on optimal wellness. So there I was again, returning to college to receive a post-master’s degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University-College of Nursing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
