About Dr. Susan Wolf
Susan Wolf, MD, is excited to join California Skin Institute-San Mateo along with her staff and associate physician. Dr. Wolf shares the California Skin Institute goal of providing state-of-the-art dermatology care while maintaining the individual patient attention expected by our patients. The hallmarks of her care include taking the time to get to know her patients personally and helping them understand treatment options, plans and expected outcomes. In addition to medical and surgical dermatology, she excels at minimally invasive cosmetic procedures for sun damaged and aging skin. “Merging my practice with California Skin Institute is an exciting opportunity for me. I will now be able to offer new cutting edge laser, light, and ultrasound rejuvenation technologies to the San Mateo community.”
Dr. Wolf is a native of Illinois and was an undergraduate at the University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana. She received her B.S. in the field of Architecture and after 4 years of apprenticeship in San Francisco, she pursued her interest in the field of medicine. Dr. Wolf was accepted to Yale Medical School where she was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Scholarship, published a first author paper in a major scientific journal, spent 2 months in Mumbai studying dermatology and pediatrics and was an editor of the Yale Medical Journal. She completed her medical internship at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven, CT., the same year she gave birth to her daughter, and then moved back to the Bay area for her dermatology residency at Stanford University School of Medicine.
In 2001, Dr. Wolf became a board certified dermatologist and went into private practice. “My goal to work and care for patients in the same community I live, shop and raise my daughter became a reality.” Dr. Wolf’s high level of expertise, aesthetic sense, and personal approach contributed her growing vibrant medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology practice in downtown San Mateo.
