Dr. Susan Zhang, DO, MPH, is a board-certified family physician at Mount Sinai Doctors-309 West 23rd Street. She earned her medical degree and Master of Public Health from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Zhang is wonderful. I saw her for a yearly check up appointment as a new patient and she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. She was a great listener, thorough in her evaluation and took her time. Did not rush to be in and out but instead actively listened to all of my questions and asked detailed follow-ups. Would highly recommend! Nurses were also kind and office is clean and efficient.

I came into my appt a little apprehensive because it had been a few years since my last annual physical and Dr Zhang made me feel so comfortable and listened to! My visit felt thorough and not rushed, she made sure to offer advice without making me feel judged. Everyone on staff was very kind and I spent no time at all waiting. My lab results came in the next day and Dr Zhang followed up right away. Im very happy with my visit!

Excellent Doctor. Having my husband get Dr. Zhang as his PCP. She is a great listener and communicates well. Very friendly. The front desk staff can improve her attitude and be more respectful and acknowledging the patient. She seemed to just sit on her desk but not interested in communicating with the patient.

Unfortunately, I've had an abysmal experience with this doctor's office. To summarize:
- I was rushed, patronized, and my severe pain was not taken seriously
- I called her office multiple times to get authorization for the tests she ordered (per imaging center's request). Took them a whole week to respond with "you don't need authorization"
- She missed ordering some crucial blood tests, she didn't acknowledge any out of range values, and she doesn't allow portal messages. Also, the blood test unusually hurt.
- She mistakenly gave me 1 refill of my basic prescription when we agreed on 3 refills
- My pharmacy and I called her four times to get more refills. The 4th time they said they couldn't refill bc she went on maternity leave. I was never warned
- They don't have a direct line, so you can only talk to someone from their call center. They explicitly told me they will not escalate your issue until you call several times. Who has the time for that?
I will never use Mt. Sinai again.

The only bad thing was that my appointment was at 8am and I was told to be there at 7.45, however, the security guy didn’t let me in until 8am when the hospital opened its doors.

I had a great experience here for my annual physical! Dr. Zhang listened carefully to all of my needs and concerns, and the appointment didn’t feel rushed at all compared to many of my past PCP experiences. Everyone working there was also very friendly, and I enjoyed all the decorations they had up for Halloween! It was a great environment and experience overall, and I’ll definitely continue seeing Dr. Zhang as my PCP.
