She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kettering College in Dayton, Ohio, and further pursued a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in psychiatric and mental health, from the University of Texas at Arlington. Following her academic achievements, she completed an extensive one-year Nurse Practitioner Residency at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center. During this residency, she honed her skills across various psychiatric domains, including outpatient general psychiatry, Primary Care-Mental Health Integration (PCMHI), geriatric outpatient care, consult-liaison psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, and substance abuse clinics.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
My typical process begins with a comprehensive initial assessment to understand your concerns, history, and goals. From there, we collaboratively develop an individualized treatment plan that may include supportive therapy, medication management, lifestyle strategies, or referrals as needed. Follow-up visits focus on monitoring progress, adjusting the plan based on your feedback and clinical response, and strengthening coping skills to support long-term well-being. Throughout care, I emphasize clear communication, continuity, and a supportive, client-centered approach.

The provider was super patient with me and really listened to my problems. She gave me a lot of advice as I have little to no experience with handling medications, and made me feel comfortable knowing she’s always a call away if I need her help. 10/10 would recommend :)

I wouldn't return to this provider.
The provider consistently struggled with connectivity issues throughout the appointment and I was forced to ask repeated questions because I either couldn't understand them or the provider's questions were unclear.
Overall, I felt as though the provider's questions were very loaded and leading, obviously searching for an easy diagnosis.
Offering a complete and confident diagnosis after a 1 hour virtual appointment should make anyone uneasy, and it certainly did me. I think that this cheapened the entire process into an assembly-line style of diagnosis and treatment.
I was also forced to move my appointment multiple times due to provider scheduling conflicts.

She’s amazing. It’s very hard to find someone with openings especially who sees children. I’ve booked multiple same day appointments and she is very punctual.
She’s so good with my kids, listens to them, and is very kind. It does not feel like a quick how are the meds working? Great! Refill.. see you in x weeks. She takes time to consider whole picture and not just diagnosis. I love that she takes time to explain why she feels certain things may help and asks if the patient is comfortable with it. I’m so happy to have found her. Book the appointment! You will not be disappointed.

Being able to schedule a same day appointment, do the appointment virtually, and at an hour where I wasn’t at work and was able to be home, made this whole experience great! Susana took the time to get me seen, hear me out, and provide a solution for me that will start asap! I was going to have to wait over a month to be seen by my GP, but with Susana I got seen same day, solution provided same day, and I have peace of mind that my treatment will start asap rather than over a month from now.

Susana did a great job. I was nervous to see a psychiatrist I hadn't seen before, especially as a transgender person, but she was very easy to work with and although being trans was not the focus of the visit, she was professional and neutral about my being on HRT. She asked a bunch of questions about my background and situation to assess what the best course of action would be. She did a great job explaining why she was choosing the specific medications she prescribed for the symptoms I presented, how and when to take them, and potential side effects. I'm hopeful for the follow up visit and feel good about her as a member of my medical team.

She was very proactive and saw me the same day that I scheduled the appointment. She had a great deal of patience and was very clear with the expectations of all the forms I had to see to for the appointment to go off without a hitch. During the call, she was fun to talk to as she was a great listener and I can talk on and on. She did a good job of just laughing but staying on topic and was thorough in explaining the prescriptions to me.
