About Suzanna (Suzy) Carbrey

I'm a speech-language pathologist with a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from Wichita State University. I work with adults to improve their productivity and communication skills so they can feel confident. My clients know what they want to say, do, and achieve but struggle to create a plan, follow through, and truly connect with others. I have experience with a wide range of brain-based conditions, from young adults with ADHD to family members of those with dementia who want to communicate better. I help clients improve social skills, logical thinking, and clear self-expression. After working with me, they communicate more effectively with loved ones, friends, and colleagues. With my background, I assist those with and without diagnosed disorders. My techniques are evidence-based and focus on outcomes that carry over to real-world environments. I use compensatory and rehabilitative techniques to address cognitive and communication function. I believe in a holistic, patient-centered approach. Sessions begin with an assessment, followed by a collaborative treatment plan tailored to your needs, progressing at a comfortable pace. We work together over a HIPAA-compliant video platform. I am licensed in Illinois and have been practicing since 2015. I have provided speech therapy for adults in various clinical settings, including acute hospital, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, home health care, and teletherapy. My experience includes evaluating and treating adults who have experienced stroke, brain injury, ADHD, stuttering, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia. Being an effective speech-language pathologist requires lifelong learning. I love to read and learn and am always taking classes to improve my knowledge and skills. * Sessions are out-of-pocket but may be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
