Sydney Moore, CCC - SLP, SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist
MA
Hi! I'm Sydney. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2022. I became an SLP because of my own experience in speech therapy. By 3 years of age, I was not talking and required PE tubes to clear the fluid in my ears which were impacting my hearing. Following this surgery, I required speech therapy to address my speech and language deficits. My experience in speech therapy was unforgettable. My speech therapist was kind, gentle, and patient. I looked forward to speech therapy. When it came time for me to decide what to go to school for, it was a no brainer for me to study speech pathology. I ultimately chose this career to do for others what my speech therapist did for me. I desire to continue growing my skills to mature my ability to meet patients where they are at and make a positive impact on their life. I have attended a wide variety of lectures and classes within the speech pathology field; however, a specific course I have attended focused on feeding skills across the lifespan. This course gave me deep knowledge on how oral dysfunction plays a role in feeding skills and proper techniques to address these skill areas. I worked in settings such as: pediatric private practice and post acute rehab. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
