Syed Zaidi, M.D. is the Medical Director of Bergen Psychiatric Associates LLC and Fairlawn Behavioral Associates LLC. Dr. Zaidi is Board Certified in Psychiatry and earned a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. He graduated from medical school in 1984 in Philadelphia, PA, completed part of his Residency in England, and finished at Temple University Medical Center in the United States. Today, Dr. Zaidi has over 30 years of diverse experience in the field of Psychiatry and is affiliated with Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ. He also serves as Chief Medical Officer (C.M.O.) at SERV Behavioral Health Systems in New Jersey.
Dr. Zaidi specializes in diagnostic evaluations and medication management for a wide variety of psychiatric conditions. His level of experience and expertise in determining the best combination of treatment, with or without medication, on a patient-by-patient basis is unmatched in the psychiatric field. Dr. Zaidi helps with the psychological well-being of men, women, and young adults, with an ability to identify and help manage all types of mental illness including depression, eating disorders, substance abuse, ADHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, psychosis, and others. Dr. Zaidi provides treatment options that range from medication management plans to different types of therapy. He also refers patients for genetic testing to determine a patient’s best response to psychotropic medications and which medication may be most beneficial to the patient when appropriate. Additionally, Dr. Zaidi coordinates with the other physicians of his patients, such as the Primary Care Physicians in order to provide patients with the best care available.
Dr. Zaidi’s practice DOES NOT ACCEPT MEDICAID, INCLUDING NJ FAMILY CARE. We do have self pay options that are very reasonable within the industry.

Dr. Zaidi worked thoroughly to identify and correct the issues I had been working on with my previous provider. He is extremely professional but also very empathetic and really seemed to connect on a compassionate level while still making sure our time was being used optimally. I am blown away impressed. But I really need to make mention of Mary - the administrator in their office, who deserves 500 out of 10 stars when it comes to the service, patience, attention and compassion she delivered to me. She was with me every step of the way as a new patient and I could not thank her enough (as much as I tried to). I encourage anyone who is on their mental health journey to call into this office. If I could rate them higher I would.

I cam to Dr. Zaidi 7 years ago in very bad condition. He has worked with me over those years and with his help I have been able to lead a much happier life. He is patient and careful. He doesn't over prescribe medicine and he listens to your issues to figure out the best course of treatment. He saved my life.

He meets with you for a vey short period of time, even though it may be a quick appointment, he does listen and shows care and concern. I feel he is very knowledgeable about medications. He also does not believe in over-medicating.
