About Dr. Syed Alam

"As a physician, my goal in life is to help my patients navigate their disease successfully. Patients are fighting battles daily and I equip them with the tools to conquer the disease as well as their fears. I walk with my patients on their journey and guide them towards healing." Dr. Syed Alam is a board-certified and fellowship trained rheumatologist. He specializes in musculoskeletal diseases with expertise in diagnosing and treating systemic autoimmune conditions. Dr. Alam earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his internal medicine residency at John H. Stoger, Jr. Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and his rheumatology fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Alam’s areas of interest include rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), osteoporosis, vasculitis, gout and pseudogout, polymyalgia rheumatica, temporal arteritis, inflammatory bowel disease with associated arthritis, systemic sclerosis and scleroderma, myositis, Sjogren syndrome, osteoarthritis, as well as tendonitis and bursitis.

Dr. Alam, his physician’s assistant, and the front desk associates were efficient in performing their jobs. Dr. Alam quickly earned my respect by coming into the exam room having clearly reviewed and absorbed my relevant history and medications. It was evident that he was very knowledgeable about my medicines. Instead of running a bunch of tests, he offered for me to upload my previous tests- saving time and money. My view is that Dr. Alam and his staff are experienced and highly professional.
