About Dr. Taaha Shakir

Dr. Shakir has spent the better part of a decade working in major children’s hospitals caring for patients in emergency rooms and inpatient and critical care settings. He served on faculty and was heavily involved in education at Emory University as well as the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital. He was also an attending at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Shakir has published research in pediatric gastroenterology as well as created a trademarked survey tool and multiple applications to help parents and families deal with anxiety and depression and cyberbullying. He continues to pursue his interests in childhood mental health, nutrition, and exercise. Dr. Shakir was regularly featured as the media representative for pediatrics for Emory University while he was on faculty there. He received awards from his peers and patients in excellence in patient care and teamwork from Emory University and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Shakir is the proud father of 3 children and is happily married to his wife, Naseem. He is also a proud native New Yorker who continues to root for his hometown Mets and Giants.
