About Dr. Takura Tela
Dr. Tela was born and raised in Zimbabwe and immigrated to the United States. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Life University in Marietta, Georgia in 2014. He later received a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from the world’s first school of chiropractic care, Palmer College of Chiropractic, located in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Tela is an avid rugby player and coach, representing teams in Zimbabwe and the United States, competing in some of the top competitions in the world. During his most active years, Dr. Tela represented Zimbabwe U19 and U20 teams and won the Junior Africa Cup in 2010 and participated in the Junior World Rugby Trophy in Tbilisi Georgia in 2011. In 2012, Dr. Tela played collegiate rugby at Life University while pursuing his undergraduate degree. His team went on to qualify for the Collegiate Rugby Championship 7s tournament and later won the national 15 D1A Collegiate National Championship in 2013. At Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Tela started as a player and was promoted to serve as the Head Coach of the Women’s rugby team and later, the Director of Rugby for the institution. During his tenure, the women’s team went on to win the Midwest Division 2 premiership in 2019. When he is not playing rugby, Dr. Tela enjoys watching movies, hiking, and visiting national parks.

An Amazing Sports Medicine Chiropractor….. I felt results after treatment that same evening…. My nervous system was so responsive that I fell asleep way before my normal bedtime. Hers a chiropractor which knows his stuff ????

The staff and office were really nice but most of the time I was on a massage chair and the thing that you stand on and shakes your whole body. It would take a long time to do all that and then get an adjustment. I would be in there almost 2 hours. Other than that everything was fine but I think they just need to take a little less time.

My appointment was at 12 and I didn't leave until 2. This took way too much time. Also, the doctor wasn't clear on what my diagnosis was.

They are always there to listen and make sure you’re well taken care of. They don’t hurry up and send you away. Dr. T and his staff are great!

I have seen three other chiropractors over the last 10 years and Dr. Tela by far is the best. He is very knowledgeable and made use of current technology and equipment that I had never seen or used before. He spent a lot of time with me and didn't hand me off to an assistant so he could service another patient as other practices have done to me. Dr. Tela provides comprehensive services so you can get a holistic approach to improving your overall health and wellbeing.

Dr. TK is hands down the BEST chiropractor I have ever had, and I have been to at least 4. He is very personable, thorough, and knowledgeable. He asked questions and really listened to my concerns. He took the time to explain the rationale behind each step. There were several different techniques used and he explained them all. More than anything I appreciated the genuine investment he had in diagnosing the root cause of my pain and developing a treatment plan that would lead to long term health and recovery. I left feeling so much better than the agonizing pain I went in with.

Dr. Tela has an excellent bedside manner and really listens to his clients. He assists in coming up with a home plan that offers techniques, stretches and exercises that are actually doable. His work is smooth and effective. I would highly recommend Dr. Tela!
