About Dr. Tam Ly
Dr. Ly is a California Board Certified Chiropractor with over 20 years of experience and the Lead Practicing Doctor at Ativa Pain & Spine Center. He utilizes various techniques, including Spinal and Knee Decompression, Class IV Laser Therapy, Shockwave Therapy, Flexion-Distraction Therapy, soft tissue/myofascial release, physiotherapy modalities, active rehab, diversified, Gonstead, activator, and drop table techniques to help return his patients to regular activities with reduced treatment time.
He completed his pre-chiropractic education at the University of Manitoba, Canada, before graduating from Life Chiropractic College West, where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

Dr Ly saw me immediately after filling out the new patient paperwork. He determined I needed xrays. He cut pain by 75-80% for not having seen a chiropractor for 4 years.
Dr Ly diagnosed an unknown injury I never knew I had. He also suggested a treatment regime and a path to normalcy.

Dr Ly is great. Although I faced issue with my previous Chiro, he didn’t diss her instead explained what could have gone wrong and then went ahead and resolved my issue. He has a great facility with modern equipment and I felt much safer here than my previous Chiro where everything was done by hand with very low tech equipment. I highly recommend Dr. Ly.

Dr. Ly was fantastic. This was my first time ever visiting a chiropractor and Dr. Ly was very professional and patient with me as I explained my reasonings for my visit. My overall experience was above expectations as Dr. Ly was able to explain in more details the reasons for my aches on my back and neck area and explained what he will do to re-align my spine and whatnot. I left the office feeling 100x better and pain free. I definitely recommend Dr. Ly to anyone looking for a professional and knowledgeable chiropractor like Dr. Ly and will definitely be back to visit again soon!

Dr. Ly, DC is great. He takes good care of his patients. He is readily-available, has x-ray and electro-muscle-stimulation on-site if necessary, took time out of his day to spend hours on the phone with my insurance, and he explains why he's doing what he's doing. Solid experience.

Not my first visit and definitely not my last. Dr. Ly and staff are always welcoming and very attentive. I've been seeing Dr. Ly for various injuries and he has always been able to address my concerns and offer home remedies. Dr. Ly is very friendly and easy to talk to, not pushy with treatments and very knowledgeable in the human body. Their covid procedures are quite evident and it makes me feel safe, really like the medical grade air purifiers!

Dr. Ly explained his findings based on observing my posture and movements, and worked with me to determine what type of treatments I felt comfortable receiving. However, his assistant, who manages the electrical pulse and massage before adjustments, seemed uncertain of how to work with my back and what levels of electric pulse would be best. When we got to the adjustment, Dr. Ly explained what he was doing as he did it. Unfortunately, his adjustments only seemed to help one part of my back-- and not the part that brought me in. I left in more than than I came in. The next day, I still had pain and frequent back cracking in regular movement. I'm not sure what's normal in this process, but I wish he'd taken an x-ray and taken the post-treatment pain more seriously. The whole experience didn't make me feel comfortable enough to try going back for a second appointment.

I am not a new patient to Dr Tam Ly, this is a second time for different symptom I am having, last time I met him for my foot pain, It was so bad that I was not able to walk or driving a car. This symptom was gone for 2 years and haven't return since.
Since COVID-19, I am working at my desk most of the time and I'm back to see him for my back pain. It have been 10 days and not going away after I tried multiple thing, it's very painful as every time I stand up and move my legs.
As normal, first meeting I raised ton of questions to him and want to know what he found from my X-ray, what is his plans for my treatment, as usual he took time answered all questions I need to know, discussed short term long term for my treatment.
I feel very comfortable with him on my treatment and his personality with very open and friendly conversation.
Highly recommended if you need to help you your pain.
BTW, his new office is awesome, new equipment and very clean. I do have a concern about COVID-19 but after first visited, I saw his staff did cleaned each chair after each patient used that make me feel more comfortable for my next visit.

My first experience with a chiropractor, and I am very happy with my visit. I had a consultation and then proceeded to have an electric pulse therapy, then neck and back adjustments, and lastly some vibration muscle relaxing treatment. I would like to start off by saying Dr Tam Ly is nothing less then an exceptional doctor who is great at his job and if not the best in the Bay Area. From the moment you walk through the door he is evaluating your condition and showing you that he truly cares. I have never met a more enthusiastic and compassionate doctor.If necessary he is able to take a sophisticated approach to figure out what the underlying problem is. He is a brilliant chiropractor and he takes his time explaining his findings/ Diagnosis and the treatment plan to get you feeling better. If you want exceptional care and an honest doctor then look no further.

Dr. Ly is pretty amazing, i really like how thorough he was in his evaluation and you can really tell he wants to get you better. It also helps that he is really friendly and easy to talk to. I've been suffering from neck pain with exruciating headaches and literally after the first visit i felt like a weight has been lifted. I've been to other chiropractors where i was literally seen for less than 5 mins. Dr. Ly's treatment lasted 30mins and he had used alot of different therapy treatments, stretching and muscle work along with the adjustments which for me was so effective. Can't wait for my next appointment, highly recommended!

I have had a knee problem for about 20 years. Recently, my lower back hurt. So I decided to seek for help. I found Dr Tam Ly from Zocdoc based on many good reviews he received. Prior to my visit with Dr. Tam Ly I had been having chronic back, neck and headache problems for about a year unsure of why. I had never visited a chiropractor before so the whole experience I had was new to me. Dr. Tam Ly was more than descriptive with everything that was going on with me, helping better understand the underlying problem. Due to my nervousness with the whole visit he also let my partner sit in on every treatment he gave me. After my visit, I had started to notice the change in my previous discomfort/ pain almost immediately. I had left feeling so relaxed I fell asleep 10 minutes in to my car ride home. Since my appointment with Dr. Tam Ly I haven’t had one migraine which is surprising cause I was use to getting them on a daily. I would highly recommend this office and doctor to anybody who is in need of a good chiropractic procedure.

I had body/muscle chronic pain for about 4 years. I started feeling agile & nimble in the first couple of weeks I saw Dr. Tam Ly. The pain is completely gone & feel energized throughtout the day in about a month's time. This has been the best treatment/gift ever I gave myself :-)
