Tamara Charles is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of adults with a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, and OCD. Tamara provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to all of her new patients, along with medication management and supportive therapy.
She earned her Master’s degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Molloy College and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Touro University Nevada.

My appointment was virtual. For the majority of the meeting I could only view half her face. There was also a lot of background notice and she was clearly distracted by someone at home. In the middle of the appointment she stepped away and returned to say her two year son is making the noise and she's watching him. I mentioned some mental health issues and she told me that I was a pretty girl and shouldn't have problems getting out there and making friends, not exactly great counseling. Lastly, she asked me to get some bloodwork done. I also emailed her to confirm my insurance. She neither responded to my email nor reached out after the results were delivered. Never been ghosted by a medical professional before.

Dr. Charles is very approachable and empathetic. She shared her insight of what was impacting my mental wellness and used psycho education to provide me with the tools needed to make decisions about my treatment plan. She followed up with me to ensure I was well and normalized a lot of the feelings I shared.
