Dr. Tawfik has also published landmark research on the anatomical study of the extreme lateral transpsoas lumbar interbody fusion approach, which is referenced and utilized in surgery by neurosurgeons worldwide. His research interests focus on the newest techniques for decompression and fusion of the entire spinal axis.
