About Dr. Tao Wu
Dr. Wu is a board-certified internist and primary care physician currently practicing in Brooklyn. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine from Army Medical University and completed residency training in internal medicine at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital in 2015. In 2018, he opened his own medical practice, which is currently recognized as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
Dr. Wu also completed residency training in otolaryngology in Beijing, China, in 1996. He practiced as an otolaryngologist in Beijing for eight years before coming to the US to research inner ear physiology. He has published 15 papers in mainstream biology and otolaryngology journals, including the American Journal of Physiology, Biophysics Journal, Hearing Research, and JARO.
He is currently affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens and Maimonides Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Wu treats common internal medicine conditions such as annual physical exams, physicals for employment and school admission, vaccine administration, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, chronic hepatitis B, pneumonia, thyroid diseases, STDs, and regular skin diseases. He is also proficient in performing various minor surgical procedures, including removing skin tags, stitching lacerations, and abscess debridement and drainage. On-site phlebotomy and lab testing are available at his clinic.
Dr. Wu has a particular interest in ear, nose, and throat disorders in primary care, such as removing ear wax, treating ear infections, tinnitus, vertigo (using different maneuvers to quickly reposition otoliths), allergic rhinitis, chronic pharyngitis, and removing foreign bodies from the pharynx.
