About Tara Clemens

Tara was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and raised in Colorado Springs. She grew up in a home where she was naturally drawn to care for others. Her mother, a nurse who became chronically ill, inspired Tara as she helped care for her over the years. Becoming a physician assistant (PA) was a natural fit for her. Tara earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. After college, she worked at Boulder Community Hospital, where she shadowed a PA. That experience led her to attend the University of St. Francis in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she earned her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2005. She has a special interest in pediatrics and geriatric medicine and specializes in helping patients with diabetes achieve their health goals, as well as managing many other chronic medical conditions. Family is important to Tara; she has been married for a decade and has two daughters. Together, they enjoy skiing, hiking, road biking, traveling, and any other family adventures. ?Everybody is different, and it is important to listen to the patient-they know themselves best.?

The office was clean and had a comfortable atmosphere, not too sterile (as in lacking warmth, it was very clean). I was helped right away by the receptionist, and waited only a handful of minutes before being called back, where a medical assistant asked questions and got my records in order. Tara, my provider, was extremely kind and a wonderful listener. I felt seen as a whole person, not just a patient. She answered all my questions and gave clear understandable explanations. In a single visit, it was clear this is a provider who sincerely cares and that I can trust. I'm grateful for the welcoming and safe environment that all the staff creates at this office.
