Tasha Taylor, SLP, CCC - SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist
PA
Hi! I’m Tasha. I was introduced to the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders by one of my professors at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota after posing a series of largely unanswered questions about AAE and communication in autism. Those questions led me to the University of Kansas, where I participated in the Communication and Autism Project and obtained an MA in Communicative Disorders. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher of some sort. I love working with and educating people one-on-one, and being a speech-language pathologist allows me to do so in multiple settings. I feel a sense of accomplishment helping individuals say words for the first time, improving a client’s ability to safely swallow, improving speech intelligibility, or implementing low- or high-tech speech-generating devices to support functional communication. I have treated individuals across the lifespan and worked in many different settings and diagnoses. In 2020, I received a Doctorate of Speech-Language Pathology. I continue to deepen my clinical expertise through advanced training and professional certification, including Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD) certification, Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) rater certification, and ongoing involvement with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I have worked in preschools, elementary, middle, and high schools, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, teletherapy, and home health settings. I approach therapy with a holistic, client-centered, functional, and highly individualized style. I incorporate routines-based and sensory-integration-informed practices, prioritize family involvement, and use strengths-based strategies to help each person build confidence, independence, and lifelong self-advocacy skills.
