Getting to know Tayo Abdul

*Note that prior to the first session with the provider, LifeStance will require a credit card on file. My nursing career began in 1980 in Nigeria, where I gained experience in all areas of nursing. I spent 10 years in Los Angeles, California, before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1994. By 1997, I focused primarily on mental health conditions, mainly working with adult populations. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Grand Canyon University and a Master's in Nursing from Walden University. I consider myself a compassionate and caring individual with a special passion for those who serve our nation, as I am both a mother of two and an Air Force Veteran.

Dr. Abdul was extremely religious, strongly urging prayer as a mental health solution. While I am a person of faith (Christian, like her) and I did mention that in response to a direct question on the topic, her preoccupation with prayer and hymns throughout the remainder of the visit was most uncomfortable. In addition, her response to my answers about lifestyle behaviors felt judgmental. For example, she asked if I smoked, I answered honestly that I had but I quit 18 years ago. Her response was that I had been up to bad living and I needed to live clean, rather than encouraging or congratulating me that I had quit and stayed quit. I believe that her intention was genuinely supportive. She heard that I go to church and wanted to encourage me to find support in something she finds meaningful. However, her demeanor in general and her emphasis on religion specifically strayed well outside the bounds of a professional therapeutic relationship, especially as this was our first session.

Listened and I didn't feel like I was rushed to answer felt comfortable discussing my problem resting better would highly recommend her to family and friends.

Very friendly and patient. She speaks to you, not at you, and treats you like a real human being. She lets you explain what you're feeling/experiencing and comes up with solutions and suggestions to help you. She seems to truly care about her patients.

My visit was supposed to be in person but it was changed to virtual due to the provider having the flu. Last min change was not preferred but acceptable. Once on to the meeting the Provider didn’t have a welcoming spirit. No smiles or pleasant disposition. I felt like I was being interviewed instead of a natural conversation. There was no ice breaker or introduction. I don’t feel like I was really being listened to or understood. It felt like I was just another day at the office.

I was very happy with the office. Although the instructions prior to the appointment were not that clear, I was able to get in contact with someone right before my appointment and I was easily transferred to where I needed to be. Doctor Abdul is a very sweet woman and definitely offered very kind words. She was a great listener, I did not feel rushed even when we went over time, and she offered great words of wisdom and encouragement. I have found an office that I am pleased with and I will be booking any appointments I need with them.

A really positive visit with Mz. Abdul. I was looking for a psychotherapist, but was pleased with my consultation with Mz. Abdul, and booked a follow up. She provides a friendly, concerned and thorough assessment.

Just not for me . Need more intense therapy

Was charged an initial fee for my first appointment with Tayo. Tayo's services were covered under my insurance plan. I received my claim from Cigna and I am charged twice in the same day double what I paid for my first appointment. I talked to Tayo under 10 minutes. Not to mention she prescribed me medicine that was extremely expensive and failed to mention that part. The pharmacist thankfully called me before filling the script because of how much money it was.. and couldn't believe that my doctor didn't say anything. When I brought it up to Tayo she said "I had no idea". I received no actual help & now I'm being triple over charged! One more thing, the doctor's name on my claim statement isn't even the doctor I saw. I am extremely frustrated by the services of Tayo and Telehealth. Will not be using their services again.
